So, Layla has slept really well the past two nights--starting around 7:00 p.m and going until about 7:00 a.m. this morning, with some early morning naps in mommy's arms as well. She of course gets up to eat about 5 or 6 times in there, but she goes right back to sleep when she's done. This is great for me--I get an almost normal amount of sleep if you string together all the 2-hour blocks! However, this means she does not sleep very well during the day, for some reason...often only about 40 minutes at a time, and sort of fitful and restless. Therefore, ALL of my pictures of her today (and I stopped trying after a while)look like this: (Plus, her new favorite move is to throw her shoulders forward and try to hunch forward/use her great abdominal strength to pull herself up, or anywhere other than the place she currently is. Sort of funny, but now she's never looking up at the camera or your face, she's staring down at her feet and grimacing.)

Tuesday morning

Twice as old

Layla is now TWICE as old as she was when this picture was taken. The picture was taken at 6 weeks, and she is now 12 weeks and 2 days, although she won't be officially "3 Months" until the 20th. This face is pretty much how we knew Layla for the first 6+ weeks of her life. Not only did she learn to smile after that, but she WANTED to smile because she wasn't in pain all the time. Poor kid. We're so happy she's happy now!

Ten days...

...until I get to see Grandma Sue! And...Uncle Toby, and Uncle Brennan, and Grandpa Ulrich!

Fun new clothes...

Mike and Anthula gave Layla this fun "Balet" outfit. I don't know if you can see, but the pink onesie underneath has balet shoes on it, and so does her FIRST little half sweater/shrug. Cuuuute. (-:

Tummy Time and the first December snow...

It snowed last night, so in honor of cold MN winters we brought out the fuzzy sleep sack! (-: Layla generally hates tummy time, but she's getting veeeeery strong neck muscles, especially since she sleeps on her tummy...DON'T tell her doctor or I'll be arrested for child endangerment. I already lose enough sleep over it as it is... Sigh...
