Finn @ 15 months:

We had Finn's 15 month Dr. appointment on Monday afternoon.  Here are his stats:

Weight:  13.2%
Height:  20.68%
Weight-compared-to-height:  42.96%
Head:  72.15%

So, clearly he's not leaping off the charts...that's just his forehead...but he's doing just fine otherwise.  He has just discovered that he likes avocado, so I'm hoping that I can beef him up a little with all those good fats.

I think at his 18 month appointment I might request that we also have him tested for allergies.  He seems to have even more sensitive skin than Layla does, and I have a strong suspicion he is allergic to dogs and nuts, or at least "intolerant" of them.  We'll see what else might be on the list.  Bummer.  He is still not eating any eggs, dairy, nuts, honey, etc.  I'd love to know if eggs are safe for him, and if he likes avocado I bed I could get him to eat cheese...so I'm dying to know if those things will ever be an option for him.  Where did I get these kids with food allergies from???  It doesn't run in either family, right?  Maybe our genes created the perfect storm of allergies?  Who knows.  :)

Finn's 15 month milestones could include trying to kill himself in any way possible, but especially by climbing on dangerous things and then launching himself off of them, and also overcoming his fear of water enough to ALSO try to end his earthly life by walking into a lake right over his head.  MERCY this one is going to give me a run for my money!  He is deceptively sweet.  ;)

A new lake with Carrie Carlson and her boys!

When you live in the land of 10,000 lakes...or, rather, more like 16,000 lakes...it's easy to go to a new one every day in the Summer and never have to repeat!  We don't, of course...we have favorites...but you CAN, and that's fun.  :)

Today we went up to Blaine to see Carrie Carlson and her two boys and have some lake fun.  It was a perfect day, again!  Sunny, breezy, but not too hot.  Perfect.

I got so distracted with keeping Finn from drowning and talking to Carrie that these are the only pictures I took.  Whoops!  :)

Family lake night!

On any other summer Friday night, this place would have been packed, but as it is we chose to go swimming at the start of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.  When we got there there were about 5 families at the lake, and when we left it was just and old lady doing exercises.  :)  We got home in time to watch the parade of nations and criticize all of their clothing, as well as see the cool torch.  That's the Olympics as parents, I think.  

On the way there it was very sunny.  Layla decided that BOTH of her sunglasses were necessary for the glare.

Finn was just happy!

They both drank quite a bit of lake water.  Soooooo....yeah.

Finn became BRAVE tonight!  Turns out, two brave kids is a LOT more work for the parents.  :)
