Words

I can't say "for sure," but I think I might classify Layla's first word(s) as "All done." I say it, then she repeats it, EVERY TIME we finish a book...which she then throws on the floor. We'll see. :)

Also, lately she's taken to saying the phrase "tocka tocka tocka tocka tocka" over and over and over as she plays by herself. It's pretty cute. TOO BAD MY VIDEOS WON'T LOAD! :(

*Update*
I think her "tocka tocka tocka" MIGHT be her phrasing of "Tickle, tickle, tickle"...We have a book where you have to wake up the bunnies on each page by tickling their feet, and then they laugh. She likes to tickle the feet while I say the words, but maybe she's thinking that "tickle" goes with every book? Who knows. :)

Meeting Zoey...

We got to meet sweet little Zoey Lenore Rydbeck tonight...and Layla looooved being "nice" to her head. :) Zoey has the cutest lips you have ever seen.

It's been a rough morning. I wanted to see if a sucker might make her happy. It did, for about 20 seconds...until I tried to go ANYWHERE or do ANYTHING...

Snuggles with Grandpa

Renee and I were both picture slackers yesterday--we were just having too much fun! However, Renee DID get a few really cute ones of Layla that I'll post later...when I get them myself... :) These are the only two pictures I took, about 6 hours post-nap for Layla, when she was snuggling so cutely on Grandpa.

Reading with Papa

Every night (when things go as we planned...), Layla gets a bath, then a bottle from Mama, and some reading time with Papa. It's very cute. She is so INTENSE when reading!

Soooo close...

Layla has taken to standing by herself for long period of time now, and she has even taken one or two steps into the arms of a parent, although it seemed more like strategic falling rather than walking to me. I'm waiting to call the "walking" achievement for a legit experience! She's close! :)

On another note, we were all ready to go to church today, but it is CRAZY icy out there! Jonas tried to pull the car up 4 feet to our back door, and when that was impossible because of a slight incline I refused to get in the car. :) I'm sure God will forgive me, but right now my 2 kids and our safety is more important than a church gathering! Yikes!

So, Aunt Laura, I'll be working on your CDs today! Maybe we can get them in the mail very soon...once the roads clear up...

14 Months!

I got a grand total of 6 photos for Layla's 14 month photo shoot. The girl did NOT want her picture taken, and only Uncle Dan got the smile on this first photo!

I am uploading this post from my "new" desktop computer, and it seems like the version of windows photo viewer (or whatever I use when I view my photos) doesn't have the EDIT option!! WHAT??? Who doesn't want to edit their pictures?? :) I would at LEAST have fixed her red eye, but...alas...

Teeth

Layla now has 8 teeth. She has for a while, I think--4 top and 4 bottom, with the two more on the bottom being the most recent. I'm posting this here because I'm pretty darn positive I will NEVER make a baby book (only online photo books, which are better in some ways in my opinion...), so there you have it folks. 8 teeth before 14 months...or 8 teeth in between the months of July and November... Normal?

Bubbles

Turns out, Layla hates them! I put a bunch of them in her bath today, thinking she would have so much fun, and instead she cried and cried...especially any time any got on her hands, god forbid! :) She acts like such a...GIRL sometimes! :)

The first snow

I love all of my FB friends who actually WENT OUTSIDE today on the first snow. Me? Noooooooooo. We're nice and cozy on floor 3, looking out our window while cranking the heat up to 70. And I feel no guilt. :)

Baby "B"

I was thinking I was going to have another ultrasound today, since I've had one every apt. up until now, but not so. The heart-rate was 154 bpm today, which means...? Who knows. :) It's generally been higher than Layla's overall, but that means ABSOLUTELY nothing. So, that's all I have to report. I have some cute videos of Layla to upload, but I tried for HOURS the other day and no-go. We'll see...hopefully soon. Since Layla got up at 6:00 a.m. today (sigh...), she's down for her one nap already...let's hope it's good enough to last her through a fun night at Grandma's tonight! Jonas and I are going on a double date with Renee and Jon...although I'm not positive they know it yet.

That's all I have to report on the home front. See, THIS is why I usually just do pictures or videos! The life we live is really not blog worthy...just Layla. :)
