This past week (Poland, sickness, and rock stars)

Well, folks, it has BEEN A WEEK.  Jonas was gone in Poland for 8 days, and so of course we fell apart here...haha.  Sickness abounded.  The day Jonas left, January 10th, I took Kellan in to get a shot for croup.  Then on Sunday I took Cora in to Urgent Care for a dose of croup meds.  See below.

 Grammy sent some fun money for food, so I took the kids to the grocery store and told them they could each pick a few items, ANYTHING that they wanted.  One of the many, many, many things Cora wanted was Kraft Mac N' Cheese.  Easy enough, so I got it...here she and Kellan are (below) enjoying mac n cheese and rotisserie chicken.

WELL.  That may have been a big mistake.  Something did NOT sit well with Kellan, and on Monday he was throwing up...6 or 7x total.  (Side note:  I feel like a professional parent now, when it comes to throwing up with child #4.  None of my clothing got contaminated.  None of the bedding.  None of the furniture or floors.  Just his clothing, and bowls/towels.  MAN do I have a towel system worked out.)

Then he fell asleep in my arms, COVERED in towels.  Because #safetyfirst

 This was Tuesday.  Kellan got up from his nap, then fell asleep on me for another hour.

Finally with everyone feeling better we took a picture to send to Papa in Poland!

Finn got a tool kit from Grandma for Christmas and likes it a lot...especially the exacto knife he uses for many paper crafts and projects!

This was the day before Jonas left for Poland...I went out to eat with a friend and he sent me photo proof that all the kids had tried my meal.  

SO.  Tonight (Sunday the 19th) our Church had a joint MLK service with 3 other churches (Haitian, Hmong, and Spanish).  The kids sang in a joint kids choir song during the service.  Please watch this 2:30 video...Finn has a rather prominent place in it...hahahahahah!  He was so jazzed at all the compliments he got after.  This kid LOVES being a goofball in front of people and will do almost anything for a laugh.  :) . That could be good or bad in the long run...haha...we'll see how he uses it!

The kids were getting VERY tired of the 1 hour, 45 minute service (our service normally runs an hour sharp, and I love the punctuality SO much...)...but then I told Cora there was going to be a meal after and she about died.  She got to eat all her favorite foods...with is anything Asian, and anything delicious.

Jonas had a PLAN.  We got down there early and did NOT have to wait in line.  With 4 kids that's priceless.

Cora has been having great fun calling Ellie!  I have to ration her calls...she would like to call every day, multiple times a day.  You're welcome, Patricia! ;)

Lately

Kellan may have received a toy vacuum for Christmas, but this doesn't diminish his love for the real thing one bit...

(The Berube women did an entire day of baking on the 21st, but the kids want to get in on about 30 minutes of action too, so we always do at least one recipe of sugar cookies at home.)

Cora got an entire plate of pot stickers to herself after dreaming about them for a long week.  All thanks to Papa and Trade Joe's!

This was right before we had to leave for homescool co-op the week before Christmas.  Kellan was SOUND asleep and did not want to wake up.  Poor kid.

 After Berube Baking Day I brought home a rice krispy Christmas tree from Grandma for the kids.  They ALL enjoyed it very much.

Papa was able to take a few hours off work to take the older 3 to a fun field trip viewing of the St. Paul Ballet nutcracker.  Layla was especially excited about this. The tickets were only $5 each, so THAT was nice for me! :)

We scheduled our flights out to D.C. in the evening of the 22nd because the 3 older kids were in the Christmas play at church, and Layla had one of the lead roles playing her violin.  I saw about 3 minutes of the play because of toddler Kellan, but ah well....videos, right?

 The performance on the morning of the 22nd.  The Horsmans, Gustafsons, Kristina and Liam, and Grandma and Grandpa all came to see the kids.  

Cora was a very sweet angel.

Finn loved being the only kid with a funny/goofy line in the play.  He hammed it up and memorized his lines easily.
