The MN Zoo:
It was the last beautiful May day today (next 5 days = rain??), so we went with Rachel G., and our FIVE kids, to the MN Zoo. Five kids 2 and under. Impressive, no?? :)

Layla and Food:
Don't let this picture fool you...
...Layla is a little stinker when it comes to eating!! I'm always saying "She NEVER eats!" or "She is SUCH a picky eater!" So, this day I decided to keep track of what I could actually get her to eat.
Her menu this day:
1/2 piece toast
4 rits crackers (see above)
1/4 grahame cracker
12 bites corn
3 bites pasta
That is breakfast, lunch, dinner, AND snacks, folks!!! Ugh.

MCM
We went to the MN Children's Museum again on Friday morning. It was raining her all day Friday, but Layla is now at the stage of life where she NEEDS to run around at least sometime during the day or she goes crazy, and then Mommy also goes crazy. Plus, we get a free membership there because of how little money we make...YAY for not making tons of money!! :) Ha ha! You know me, always the glass half full, always the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... ;)
ANY-HOO...Layla's favorite thing there is walking up and down any sort of incline or ramp. Cheap thrills, this kid! These are two videos of her walking up and down a very steep ramp in the "Habitat" section, although because I'm so close you can't tell how steep the ramp is. She knew it was a big deal to make it to the top and down by herself, and she was quite proud. :)

Spring walks in MN
We never get very far on our walks if Layla is "walking free," i.e. no stroller or leash, because she loves to go up to EVERY house, sit on EVERY step, etc. Here is a typical walk. Plus, the concrete was warm...she had to test it out...

SPF Spring Retreat 2011
My camera is driving me NUTS. It's got a blurry spot RIGHT in the middle of each photo (therefore I presume on the lense...) but I've wiped it and I can't find anything!! Urgh. THese pictures make me batty. :)
On the way up to the retreat I sat in the back seat...

The view on my right: (yes, I know she looks drunk...she was not in prime "picture taking form" that afternoon...she HAD just gotten up from a nap, maybe??)

Layla loved the "stage" in the dining hall:
Running around in the wide open spaces, chasing her cousins and playing "soccer" by picking up the ball and running away with it, OR having Papa swing her to kick the ball:
Layla's favorite activity of the weekend: Chasing Luke (17 months: to his credit, he DID manage to keep about 2 inches ahead of her most of the weekend...)
