Layla, Finn, Cora and Kellan Schaefer's blog, for all the family members far and near who miss and love them...and who don't mind such a shamelessly Schaefer children-centered space.

Poor baby! NOW I get it! :-(
(This is not Layla. She won't let me NEAR her mouth. Thank you, Google!)

On Saturday night at the Carons Layla went crazy. She was sleeping most of the time, but she was CRAZY restless, acting like she was in pain, etc. NOTHING we did worked to help her sleep. This was rather depressing since she has slooooooooooowly been getting better as a sleeper (i.e. getting up only 2-3 times a night rather than 11-12...), but we just couldn't figure it out. At around 3:00 a.m. Jonas decided we should just turn on the light and check her for bug bites, rashes, ANYTHING that would help explain what was going on. Nothing. Nada.
Guess what we found Sunday afternoon? The first razor-sharp signs of a new tooth! I wouldn't have even known this were it not for Layla constantly chewing on my chin, and it being rather more painful than normal. Poor baby! She really was in pan! So, I druged her up, and she got 5 hours in a row last night...a miracle for her. She is still acting like she is in a lot of pain today, so I'm not sure how long this lasts. We can see the top of the tooth...and I would think that would be the most painful part (cutting through the gums, right?), so how long until this tooth (yes, I know 20+ more are coming...sigh...)stops hurting her?
Joy. One more reason for her to sleep poorly. (-:
This is the first time where I got the "Hey! Who told you to grown up???" feeling. Sniff.... sniff...
