Berube family Christmas Fondu Night!
I clearly still need work on figuring the camera out, but I had only had it in my hands for about 5 minutes at this point! So much fun!!! :) Here is Finn enjoying his gift from Uncle Eric:

So, Uncle Greg and Aunt Andrea are back in town from Boston!!! Yaaaay! We are so happy to have them back home. :) AND, in even BETTER news, Aunt Andrea will be spending at least 3 months here from January - March as a traveling nurse in the Twin Cities! The people rejoiced! This means that there will be oh-so-many fun playdates with her in the near future. Finn especially told me he is thrilled. ;)
Tonight, in yet another display of Greg and Andrea's generosity, they gave us their camera...a reeeeeeally nice one. They gave the excuse that they are going to upgrade, so they wanted us to have theirs...which we know might be true, but we know the real reason is that they are just generous like that. And we LOVE them for it.
Thank you guys!!!!

Noooooooo!
Finn had his worst night of sleep in...well...forever! He never slept this bad, even as an infant. There better be a REASON for this horrific night...like teeth? Or an illness? Because it would be too frustrating for it to just "happen." We're SHOT over here.

Today
I'm sorry I don't have pictures from today, but it was just too "hands-on/busy" for extra stuff like that. :)
We started out the day with a good Nap for Finn, then off we went to see Rachel Gustafson with Bettina and Adelaide at Edinborough Park in Edina (again). Good times! We pushed it to the max with our time there, because that's what we do these days...AND because we didn't want to leave once connected with friends again... On the way home Layla fell asleep, so her that that should have started at 12:30 didn't start until almost 2:00.
Layla slept from 2:00-4:00, and Finn also had a great nap! I had to go in and feed him once during his sleep, but it was well worth it for the 2.5 hours he slept in total! Yessss! We putzed around the house for a while until Papa came home, and then we rushed out for a Family Date Night at Oxford Community Center. They have a fun pool with water slides, a play area with slides for little kids, waterfalls, etc. It really didn't hurt that it cost only $8 total for the 4 of us. OR that it's located less than a mile from our house. (MAN I love how many cool things we have near us to do with the kids...but I digress...)
Layla ADORED it! She couldn't stop laughing and jumping the entire time! She was constantly in motion with a huge smile on her face. Jonas crawled all over the pool with Layla while I sat in the shallow end with Finn. (He's been cute lately with baths...and I hope Jonas doesn't mind me sharing this, but...here goes. Sometimes Jonas will fill the tub and then get in with Layla while holding Finn too. Finn thinks he has DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN when this happens. He just yells and splashes and laughs the entire time.) So, keep that thought in mind as you picture Finn seeing all FOUR of us in WATER TOGETHER! Oh, the yells! :) I think he was *less* excited about the water temperature, but he forgot about that in the amazement of watching everything that was going on around him.
The worst moment of Layla's life came when we had to leave (Finn's bedtime). Oh, the agony! Oh, the drama!!! She begged and pleaded to go back to the water. She even grabbed both my cheeks between her hands as I was dressing her and said "inna wadder, okay Mama??? Okay??" So cute. But, no. We left. :)
Finn went to bed, Layla got a bath, we ate Trade Joe's frozen foods, Jonas left to decorate the church, I put Layla to bed...and that's it so far.

Naptime today:
This is an email summary I sent Jonas:
1. I get Layla settled in her seat while I put Finn down.
2. Finn doesn't really "want" to go down, but I get him down anyway in 15 minutes.
3. I go out and let Layla play for a while, then 30 minutes later go to put her down.
4. While rocking Layla Finn starts to cry. It turn the monitor off, rock her a bit longer, then put her down awake.
5. I to in and find Finn with one arm unswaddled and mad. Nurse him back to sleep. Can't put him down without him waking up though, Give up and let him get up after 50 minutes of sleeping.
6. Layla is talking.
7. Finn is up and noisy.
8. Layla is loudly talking.
9. I go in to see what's going on. She has pooped. I change her diaper, then put her back down.
10. Still loudly talking.
11. Still loudly talking.
12. I go back in and feed her, rock her again. Just as I'm about to put her back down I smell something.
13. I change her second poopy diaper.
14. It's now 2:00. She has been playing in bed for an hour. She FREAKS when I try to put her back in. I COULD rock her to sleep, but it takes too long with Finn in the high chair out in the kitchen. She wants to go see Finn.
15. I let her get up. ZERO sleep for Layla.
Any guesses when my kids will go to bed tonight? Or get up tomorrow morning? Closest to the actual minute wins a prize...

Edinborough Park, Edina
Today Layla, Finn and I went HERE with our friend Marie and her kids Lauren and Gretta:
BOY is it a cool place! Layla had fun for sure, but give it a year and she'll be in little kid heaven, I think...
*Side note* You can see Layla trying to keep her hair out of her eyes in the video. Sigh. I don't know what to do about this! I'm not sure I want to give her bangs, because they are just a pain in the butt, and yet she won't let me put any headbands or clips in her hair, so she ends up looking all scruffy most of the time. Ideas? :)

I LOVE his eyes!!
I think Finn is actually wearing Layla's red Irish hat in these pictures...her hat that goes with her sweater seen in the posts below. I think it fits HER just fine and he makes it seem a little snug. It reminds me of my brother Greg's MASSIVE head as a child... ;)

Today
Why is Layla without pants and in rain boots, you ask? Simple. She spilled grape juice all over her pants, so we were soaking them, and she ADORES the rain boots from Aunt Renee! Anytime the closet is open we hear clomping in about 2 minutes: Layla in her cherry rain boots with the handles on top! She loves that she can put them on herself (one step closer to getting outside, in her mind...), and she loves the handles. :)
