MN Zoo: One Mama, two kids that walk and run in opposite directions.

This tiger was in RARE form today!

Looking for Kitty:

It was really  hot here the other day (95 for the high) so the kids were running around the apartment in diapers. When Jonas got home they wanted to escape, so they went and did a favorite pastime:  looking for the kitty paws under the door of the neighbor's apartment.  I hope the neighbor never actually catches us doing this...some things are just harder to explain to non-parents.  :)

"Ready, set.....DOOOOOOOOOOO"

Finn is SO much more verbal than Layla was at this age!  He can mimic so many sounds, even hard plosives, and he will often repeat anything I ask him to say.  His favorite thing to say right now is "Gooooooooooo" which to him sounds like "Doooooooooooooooo!"  I say "Ready, set...go!" to Layla all day long, evidently, and so now I just say "Ready, set..." and Finn provides the "Dooooooooooooo!"

Playing in the grass across from Como Zoo

Neither kid was going to take a nap yesterday, or at least any GOOD nap, so we gave up and went to Como Zoo with Emily, Libby, and Savannah.  Fun times!  :)

Some Seattle videos:

As Jonas was filming the kids on our first morning there I said something like "Be careful!  We only have an hour of film for the whole trip!"  And then this is all we used.  :/  We were being careful, I guess!  :)

Mama's Birthday meal with Aunt Lauren:

Happy Birthday to ME, and to Lauren, who I watched come into the world 21 years ago.  :)  Now we can have a drink together and celebrate it...legally, that is, because let's face it Lauren:  as the baby of the family the legal age of drinking became rather fuzzy for you at in-home celebrations.  ;)  Smooch!  Love you!

Seattle with the Rydbecks: Heading Home...Sigh...

Thank you, Jesus, for DVD players.  Amen.

Seattle with the Rydbecks: The Seattle Aquarium

After naps on Sunday it was still raining, so we headed in to the aquarium.  Fun times for the kids, boy!  And maybe for the adults too... ;)

Seattle with the Rydbecks: Kids Quest!

On Sunday morning it was raining, so we went to a bit of indoor fun at "Kids Quest."  It's like a MN Children's Museum, except more condensed together...and maybe more geared towards younger kids.  Fun times!  The light in there was horrible, so my camera couldn't get really good pictures.

The guys

They both wanted the toy.  Neither moved.  They just stood there.

Finally I lifted Layla and put her on the blue one, which was FREE and RIGHT NEXT to the pink one.  :)

Blurry fun!
