Layla, Finn, Cora and Kellan Schaefer's blog, for all the family members far and near who miss and love them...and who don't mind such a shamelessly Schaefer children-centered space.

Summer walk
It's been pretty hot here lately, but it cooled off enough after dinner today that we went for a little walk along Summit avenue. We really like being back in our "right" neighborhood. (-: Layla only took a 30 minute nap today, rather than a 2 hour one, so she was a little out of it, but she was happy long enough to snap these two photos. In the one she is smiling BEHIND her nuk--a neat trick.

Yay for Uncle Dan!
Dan regularly comes over to the place where "Cool" resides to chill for a while. Today he came just after Layla's nap and was hangin' with her on the couch. After playing around for a while he went into the kitchen, got a jar of apple sauce, and proceeded to feed Layla the ENTIRE thing. The little stinker kept opening her mouth wide for UNCLE DAN, but nooooot when it was Mommy or Daddy feeding her. (-:
In other news, I got another 90 jars of baby food today through WIC. I now have HUNDREDS. Layla has eaten...TWO. Sooooo...we're good for a while. (-:

Look at her bald head here!

"Eating"
In the last week I have had slight success with getting Layla to eat solids. The only thing she has truly eaten thus far is 1 jar (over 3 days) of apple and blueberry mush. She took exactly one bite of green beans, and about 4 bites of banana today. Look out, world!

An afternoon bath...
Nothing better than a baby that smells like lavender!
These pictures are actually in reverse order, so this is after her bath...she HATES getting dressed again, but the nuk always helps! (-:

She didn't mind having a tub of water dumped over her head. Good news for Mommy! I remember many baths as a child where my brothers freaked out because water got in their eyes.
