Well, this is it, folks! The ONLY thing of excitement and adventure we are doing all summer long, haha. I am very thankful though, for sure. It was an excellent week, and it's the perfect kind of vacation for our little family.
The kids were BEYOND excited to leave. We've gone there enough times now (3 years? 4?) that they have built up fun memories, so boy were they discussing all the things they planned to do endlessly. It got to be...a bit much for me, frankly. But I survived, and so did they (until we got there)...barely!
We had great weather, which I worried about a bit, and a really lovely time together as a family.

| There are so many fun birds that live on this lake! Two bald eagles live nearby and would sit in this big tree RIGHT behind our cottage. Their cries are so distinctive, and I know them because I watched "Rescuers Down Under" when I was a kid, hahaha! |
