Eamon celebrated his 4th birthday last Saturday and Aunt Andrea was gracious enough to send cupcakes for the older cousins...and Kellan. Kellan may have enjoyed them the MOST. But he doesn't like to get his fingers dirty, so he ate them hands free. He would take off the decorations, put them back on again, then eat the frosting.
Some SLIGHT DRAMA from these children lately, haha.
During the school year they get iPad time for about an hour at the end of the day, and this works very well 95% of the time. But this summer they kind of lost their minds, forgot the rules, and thought they could ask for technology time regularly without consequences. SO, Mama and Papa went old school on them and packed away the iPads for a month. No technology time ever, except for Family Movie Night still on Fridays. Within a day or two they had regained their sense and were playing fine once more. We'll let them have some technology time again when we go to our lake home vacation in late July, because the house is so small and Kellan goes to bed early, but we'll have to *see* how things go after that! :)
Kellan is all about lining up all this toys and trucks these days. Everywhere he goes he leaves lines of construction vehicles and dinosaurs in his wake.
It has been SO hot lately, and the basement is lovely cool, so there has been much use of the trains down there while Papa works in the other room.
In OTHER fun news, Jonas is using some of his free time to start working on a basement reno project: finishing the one room with the fireplace and the stairs to the basement. It'll be great to have a bit more space to send the kids during another long pandemic winter coming up, BUT it's also great for Jonas to have something to do as well. Win-win!

Cora and Finn got to reminiscing about Christmas and making gingerbread houses, but I told them I am NOT a fan of gingerbread houses because 1) no one really likes to eat gingerbread anyway, and 2) they are hard to make on your own, so they decided to make graham cracker houses instead. Yessssss. They got out all the things in our cupboard that they deemed worthy and set off on a 1.5 hour adventure.

| Kellan has one box of toys that are "his," along with the play cooking gear behind a chair in the living room. I can often find him entertaining himself back there, and I'm not quite sure why it strikes me as so cute. Maybe because Cora NEVER liked to be alone, haha??? |

Kellan loves the garbage and recycling truck. Last week Jonas and Kellan were on a walk when it came down our street. Best day of his life.

St. Paul opened up a few of the splash pads again, and normally I am a big fan, but not in such high germ-sharing context, so we try to only go when the weather is not that great, or early enough, to avoid the rest of the crowds. On this day Jonas took them down there (right next to our lake, so just a few blocks away) when it had been raining all day and was still gray and cloudy. Jackpot. NO ONE there other than our kids, and the sky started to clear anyway.
