Layla has been looking forward to getting her vaccine for ages, so I set up an appointment for her clinic on the morning of her birthday. However, her clinic made a mistake, so she wasn't able to get the Covid vaccine then, and instead had to get FOUR other vaccines. She is one who doesn't do well with any sort of medical procedures or even talk, so sadly she fainted after these four shots and felt out of it for a few hours after. But she rallied in time to go to a tea party with Grandma that afternoon, and have steak as requested for dinner that evening.
That Thursday she FINALLY got her vaccine at our local Walgreens, and there was much rejoicing! Thankful once again for science and modern medicine.
Layla had a Harry Potter themed birthday party with her friends on Saturday, and then a smaller backyard party with local family on Sunday afternoon. It was a weekend FULL of celebration. She is delighted, and I'm rather tired, haha.
The Harry Potter party was a HUGE success. This was her last "big party," because I'm making a rule that when you become a teen you no longer have lots of friends over for parties, and instead you choose a few friends and GO DO SOMETHING with them like teens do...hahaha. She has already decided on going to Sky Zone next year.
