I have...uh...a LOT of photos. 286. I could delete some, but let's be honest: at 286, even if I delete some, it's still gonna be a lot. Stick with me if you want, but I won't blame you for bailing out half way through!
The photos are sort of in order, sort of mixed up, but I don't want to fix them.
We arrived on Sunday, spent Sunday night swimming at the resort, and on Monday Jonas worked while I took the kids to The Farm. They were in heaven. Bottle feeding baby goats, holding kittens, and throwing corn into the mouths of cows. What more could city kids want?
Sunday morning: on our way! We were sad to miss cheering Kathleen on to her Twin Cities marathon completion.
Monday afternoon Jonas came with us to Eagle Bluff lighthouse and the Eagle Bluff tower.
This tower was no joke. We went up the ramp (disability access) and I almost couldn't finish crossing it. My body started shutting down in protest, haha. It was so much easier to do the stairs on the way down. The only reason I finished the ramp was because the kids were there and watching, so I had to push on.

After Peninsula State Park we went down to Sturgeon Bay to see the Maratime Museum there (closed), and one of the most photographed lighthouses in Wisconsin.
Tuesday morning we went to the Cana Island lighthouses. We got out to the island by tractor, and the view from the top was spectacular. The Lake Michigan side of the peninsula is for sure way more cool than the Green Bay side, when it comes to water and wave action at least.
Watching your kid on ledges high up in the air is anxiety producing. Jonas was not a fan of Kellan hanging out here.
Sweet brave Layla. She has a terrible fear of heights, but she bested it and made it to the top alive, although we had to sit down and breathe a few times...
Showering off at the pool before heading back to the room...nightly swimming is the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing.
Wednesday morning we took the ferry on the northern tip of the peninsula to Washington Island. These photos by the white rocks are from School House beach, which was so fun. We had a picnic lunch there.
There was a super cool old Lutheran church on the island tucked away in the woods.
The largest farm of lavender (in the midwest) is on the island, so we of course visited, but sadly no more lavender...all harvested for the season. Still beautiful!
The island is also known for cherries, so Cora and Kellan and I split some cherry ice cream.
The ferry ride there and back were pretty fun!
On our way back from the island on Wednesday we visited Ellison overlook and Door Head Park overlook. Serious hikes to one of them, but such COOL trees and forests to walk through. No bugs and cool weather, so we were great.

We saw this truck in Fish Creek on our drive back and Jonas wants it known that THAT is the truck he wants when someone strikes it rich.
There was a traditional fish boil happening in Fish Creek.
The condo was perfect. No more hotels for me, if I can ever help it! Being able to cook our own food was so much easier and cheaper and time efficient compared to eating out three meals a day. Never going back!
Nightly pool views. We were usually by ourselves while Jonas worked.
On our way out on Thursday we stopped at The Farm again, because the first time the kids had declared it the BEST DAY OF THEIR LIVES. Since Jonas wasn't with us then, he was able to join the second time.
The baby goats were the ones designed for the bottles, but this baby lamb was aggressive and persistent, and Kellan found it was easier and safer to feed it behind his back, haha.
Throwing corn into a cow's mouth. SO funny for some reason. Their tongues are eerily long.
Our house has horrible light, so when we leave we have to bring every plant in the house to the dining room table and hope that the eastern morning light keeps them alive while we are gone...

One of those mornings I took the kids to Cave Point park to walk along the bluffs on Lake Michigan. SO PRETTY. Jonas was super sad to have to work.
