With Summer comes fruit flies, at least in our house.
I always have fruit sitting out somewhere, and then there are the frequent CSA boxes, and the produce coming in from our garden...so the flies have been THICK and HEAVY this year.
My friend Phil Carlson taught me this nifty little trick. Take a mason jar, pour it maybe 1/4 full with apple cider vinegar, and then place saran wrap on top nice and tight. Poke a few holes in the top so the flies can get in (not too big), and then leave it.
I have been AMAZED. Amazed. This jar is full of deal fruit flies, and a few normal flies to boot.
Jackpot. :)
