Today: food and flowers

Today was another CSA Box pickup day, so our dinner was a CSA feast.  :)

First of all, a children detour:  Finn and I went to pick up the CSA box while Jonas and Layla went for a walk.  Finn and I had been home a total of about 3 minutes when Layla burst through the door and ran up to me with this bunch of flowers in her hand.  She was so.stinkin'.proud. that she had picked these flowers for me.  Melt my heart!  We put them in a vase (which she broke in about 5 minutes, so here they are in vase #2...continually being smelled and appreciated by ALL of us.  ALL the time.)  ;)

Smelling the flowers

Hey, 1 out of 2 not blurry is pretty good...

Her fake smile, but real pride.  :)

Some of my CSA bounty.

We had fresh potatoes with chives from the CSA, tossed in some garlic and olive oil, then baked.  Delish.

Here Layla is helping to peel some corn with a scissors.  She always prefers the method where her hands come into the least amount of contact with the food/item as possible.

Moving on to hands, throwing caution to the wind!

Sauteed onions and mushrooms.

Jonas and his amazing pork.

CSA chives, cucumbers, and a jalapeno made into a great salad/chip dip.  (Fine, the tomatoes, lemons, and limes were from Costco...but what can you do?) ;)
