We left bright and early on Wednesday morning, around 7:15. Overall it was a very smooth drive there, although Kellan isn't a big fan of being in the car that long. In all honesty, ipads saved us. Hooray for technology!

We arrived! Our hotel was very one-star, haha, but the kids had fun, and we had a safe place to sleep, so that's about all we needed.
We unpacked and immediately went to the pool for some swim time. We were the only ones there, so that was nice!
The first thing we did on Thursday morning was head to Mount Rushmore. We were there long before. any crowds, which made. my heart very happy. We didn't really deal with crowds or lines anywhere, so score one for that! Nice to travel when no one else is traveling / all the public school kids are in school!
It was SO bright and sunny that day. Pictures might have turned out better at a different time of day, but ah well.
After Mount Rushmore we headed to the Crazy Horse Memorial...
