Mid-winter in MN

For the last two Sunday mornings, Layla and Finn we able to take two days of curling lessons through our local community ed program.  It's TOTALLY their speed, and such a MN thing, haha.

The continuing saga of sleep for Kellan:  he falls asleep while Jonas reads "Harry Potter" book #1 to him.

The other day Jonas took the kids to Sky Zone in the morning, but it was closed so he took them to Como Zoo and Conservatory as a consolation prize.  I sat at home by myself, in silence.  It was AMAZING.

More sleep....each picture is a different day, although it's hard to know that because Jonas has an "after work" uniform, haha...

Last Sunday Jonas was looking for an excuse to take Ben Caron's massive bajillion-person vehicle out for a spin, so he took the kids and some neighborhood kids sledding.

After sledding we made S'Mores with my fun Christmas present:

More sleep...

Finn and Cora got way into a made-up holiday they call "Sluzzle Tag".  They created it last year, and it continued to live this year.  The colors of Sluzzle Tag are black, gray, and red.

LOTS OF BATHS around here, when there is nothing else to do...

A recent outing to Sky Zone...

Layla and Finn are taking three Saturdays of skating lessons outside, at a nearby Rec Center.  This past Saturday I had to bring all 4 kids with me last minute, which is not the optimum scenario.  Kellan cried the ENTIRE time, mostly, because he didn't have skates of his own.  Only Gatorade and Oreos stopped the tears.

Cora is really enjoying her Jazz and Tap dance classes.  She takes them VERY seriously.

The Year of the Water Tiger began on February 1st, the 1st day of the Lunar New Year.  Cora and I went to United Noodles to get a bunch of fun Asian treats for post-dinner celebrations.

She was SO excited about this Dragon fruit.  Turns out it tastes more like bland kiwi...

Cora spent 24 hours feeling unwell.  She had a fever, and low appetite...not eating much is her REAL sign of sickness, because she is a bottomless pit when it comes to food.  Thankfully an at-home Covid test was negative and she's back to normal now!

They boys both got haircuts last month, so this month I took the girls in for some rare cuts for them.  Layla hasn't been in for YEARS, and Cora only get about 2 a year...
