No day brings greater joy to my children than Grocery Day, haha.
All Kellan wants to do at Sky Zone these days is work on his Ninja Warrior Jr. skills.
Cora regularly plays with Kellan while I do school with the older two (their school takes longer than hers does, being in 1st grade), and on this day she created a cave for him to sleep in as he was cold. He is inside that...mixture...of cushions and blankets.
Cora's best friend had a birthday this past Friday, AND the day off school, so we invited her over to celebrate. She's adorable.
On Saturday we went down to our lake for "Phalen Fest." It's such a funny, classic Minnesotan thing to do. People just set up shop in the middle of the lake for winter fun. There were bonfires and s'mores, along with snow painting, ice fishing, boot hockey, snow shoeing, and more. The ice was about 18 inches thick.
I have had the book "Hello, Ninja" (by N.D. Wilson) for years, but I've had the board book form, so it has always been a baby book for my kids. Then I got two of the longer hard cover versions for slightly older kids, and now that it's become a Netflix show Kellan has truly fallen in love. Ninja dedication is strong in this one.
Jonas left on Saturday for a few days of skiing in Colorado. I told Kellan he could attempt sleeping with Cora that night, so he gave it a try for about 30 minutes, then wandered into my room, asked to sleep with me, and fell asleep in about 10 seconds. It was kind of amazing to watch. Pictures of my sleeping children are my favorite, always.
