Generally, Finn gets up earlier than Layla. Today, for example, he got up at 7:15 and she got up at 8:30. His normal routine is to come downstairs, watch a little "Tree Fu Tom" while eating some breakfast, and then ask to go outside. It's fun seeing his imagination getting stronger, and I for sure see this in the mornings outside. He'll RUN up and down the length of the yard, talking to himself and singing his own personal theme song. He stalks and hunts things behind our massive bush. But the cutest thing he does by far is set up camp in the pay fort and just hang out there. He'll stay in there for 30 minutes at a time (in the mornings at least...it's cooler--heat wise--then), and the whole time I can hear him talking to himself, singing songs, etc. He climbs all over things, lies down on the floor and rolls around for a while, etc. (Maybe I should also mention that he'll go in there when he wants to poop in peace. This makes me laugh each and every time. Maybe it's time to look into potty training...)
Here is Finn in action yesterday (photos taken by a lazy mom only from the porch window):
Here is Finn this morning with his favorite (and only) gun (thank you, dollar store), and his best buddy, "Gonzo." Papa brought Gonzo back from D.C. for Finn, and Gonzo was missing for the past 2 days--we finally found him the in cedar chest at the base of the guest bed. Gonzo was playing hide and seek, evidently. Finn calls him "Bonz-go." Melt my heart, little guy. :)
