A last, perfect fall weekend.

Saturday:
Friday was perfectly lovely...low 50 degrees, sunny, and bright colors everywhere.
This picture cracks me up for a few reasons.  It's 1 of only 2 trees on our property, and technically that is the city's property down by the street, but we still are responsible for raking those leaves.  Our other tree is a pine-ish tree in the back of our back yard, so no leaves.  So, THOSE leaves you see there are the sum total of the leaves we have to rake every fall.  Sometimes we do, sometimes we just wait for a big windy day when they then become the problem of a neighbor down the street...hahaha.  Yeah.  We're those people.

Kellan's hair almost blend in with the leaves!

Heading out on a walk...

At least someone is excited for the snow equipment use that is upcoming...

 Saturday:
Another perfect weather fall day.  High 50s, sunny, THE LAST DAY of lovely.  :(  My heart breaks thinking of the coming winter!!!  Gah.  I'm not ready.  I still have a bit of PTSD from how hard last winter was.

Saturday morning we had a very fun thing happen/planned.  Layla was playing a song on her violin for Grammy via Facetime, and then this happened: She got a new violin as a present from Grammy!  She is now playing on a 3/4 size instead of her 1/2 size she initially started on.  My baby is growing up! *sniff* Thanks so much, Grammy!

In the afternoon:
Jonas and I dropped the kids off at the Horsman/Berube house and went out to Punch pizza.  Above and to the right you see my favorite one...the arugula garlic prosciutto pizza.  Ummmmm.  Perfection.

While we were out Renee took pictures of the kids playing in the leaf pile, and Kellan's continued love affair with all big machinery...

Pretending to ride on the riding lawn mower, or pushing the walking lawn mower up and down their driveway is his FAVE.
Finn makes me laugh so hard in the following pictures.
The boy knows how to show JOY on his face, that's for sure!

His FACE here!  Total ecstasy!  :)

We are going to carve pumpkins tonight (Sunday night).  I am hoping I can get at least ONE of the kids to let me do the throwing up pumpkin on their dime... :)

Slow-mo leaf pile throwing videos:

Saturday evening Jonas finished painting the first background for the theatre he is building for the kids in the basement.  Isn't it impressive?  I'm totally impressed.  I could do NONE of this.

Sunday (today):
It's cold and gray today, so all hope has left middle earth, but a few fun things still are a part of today.
1.  It was reformation Sunday today, so at church they had an organ, a choir, and a brass ensemble play "A Mighty Fortress is our God."  Dang.  That's the only way it should be played or sung. For realzies.
2.  The kids had fun in practice for the Christmas program, and Layla bravely volunteered for speaking and singing solos.  We'll see what she gets!
3.  We're going to our first Trunk or Treat at Cora's preschool when Kellan wakes up.  I think these are lame things, but whatever, one more reason to use our Halloween costumes!
4.  Pumpkin carving tonight.
5.  Sunday night at our house has become "Old time movie night with popcorn."  YES.
