Wednesday afternoon I had Cora scheduled to go see her Ped for an update on a few vaccines. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule that appointment for NEXT week because Finn needed to go to the ER that afternoon.
Ah, the ER. 2nd home of my children.
Why, you ask? Because he was playing with GeoMags and put one of the magnetic balls in his mouth, then swallowed it. I was upstairs when this happened, and he started FREAKING OUT because he could feel it slowly going down his throat. After drinking some water he didn't feel it in his throat any longer, and it was clear he wasn't having problems breathing, but he was still very worried about what was going to happen next.
(However, not worried enough to stop him from taking other magnets and seeing if they would stick to his throat or chest now... Alas, they did not.)
I called Jonas to come home from work, yet again, for another fun little family medical emergency. So thankful his job is very flexible!
Finn and I were in the ER for a little under 3 hours. His biggest concern was getting a shot, but honestly, he has NO IDEA what he escaped. If it's just one magnet, depending on the size and shape, the doctors will often let it pass on its own. If it's two magnets? Automatic surgery. Soooooooo. We waited to have an xray taken to confirm that it was just one magnet.

| Very relieved he didn't have to get a shot. He watched TV, got crackers and a popsicle, and an xray of his body. He also gets to NOT go skiing anymore this winter to help pay for this visit...haha! |
When we got home from the ER, Cora was playing in the back yard and came running up to the van. Finn jumped out, arms and hands splayed in classic "jazz hands" style, and yelled "STILL ALIVE!!" Haha! That was my favorite part of this whole episode, by far.
