The trip to say goodbye to Great Granny yesterday:
The day went as good as could be expected, I believe. The trips up there (4 hours each way) and down went as well as could be expected with 3 little kids, and the service itself was lovely. Renee, Jon, and Jonas did a great job putting it all together and making beautiful music, and my Dad gave a wonderful eulogy.
Renee did an excellent job, as usual, putting together a memorial video for Granny. If you want to see it, you can watch below:
It was nice to see so many of my cousins who I rarely see as well. Cora was particularly enamored with one of my cousin Nicole's little boys, also named Finn, and she spent the entire time grinning up at him and trying to get him to chase her...pretty sweet.
We got up there a bit early, so we stopped to see the Iron Worker statue just outside of Chisholm. Wow it is HUGE. Finn loved climbing up on the rocks underneath the statue.

We also stopped at the National Guard memorial across the way, because...well, obviously...we HAD to. :)
Finn is running with his arms out, exactly like this plane, of course.
Those are two cool rides right there, that's for sure!
On the way home, one of our MANY stops was in Cloquet, where the kids played around the river.
I love that Jonas caught her mid-fall here. Those tights did NOT make it through this rest stop...
These two had the best time playing underneath the highway underpass. RIGHT on the other side of this underpass was a really cool looking fort, Daniel Boone style or something. Nope. They had zero interest. All they wanted to do was run up and down here and throw rocks down.
