We decided to seriously start potty training Finn this weekend. He has been ready for ages, really, but I/we have just been too lazy to do it. For us, it worked brilliantly (at least last time, with Layla...) to start on a weekend so you could have one adult always watching the kid like a hawk, and one adult doing the rest of life stuff. :) So, since we already were sticking close to home this weekend due to Layla's croup recovery, we decided to just do it.
He's done fine so far--2 accidents each day. I set a timer, remind him to go, and most of the time he can. He's kind of afraid to poop on the toilet, though. So here he is, below, when we had him just practice sitting there and not being afraid. Movie help everything. ;) He sure does love to stand and pee, though! That's one small benefit to potty training an older boy child--they can stand and pee, and be relatively accurate in their aim, at this age. :)
